Australia’s defence policy is founded on the principles of self-reliance and defending Australia against armed attack. But, we also need the capacity to do more where there are shared interests with partners and allies. Defence is at the core of Luminact’s capability.
During 2016, the Department of Defence undertook a major review into how it partners with industry to achieve the capability required to fulfil its mission. The activities that resulted from that First Principles Review, along with the Defence Industry Policy Statement and the Government’s recent decisions on naval shipbuilding, will require significant input and support from Australian industry over the coming decade.
Luminact is positioned to take up the challenge and match our specialist skills and technical knowledge with defence projects to develop innovative solutions for new capabilities.
Our team have a combined experience spanning multiple decades within the defence industry. This includes experience working above-the-line within the Department of Defence and its agencies, as well as below-the-line in prime commercial defence industry organisations and small to medium enterprises (SMEs).
Our consultants come with technical backgrounds from mechanical and electronic engineering, system engineering, solution architecture, project and program management skills, to policy and regulatory specialists. A key strength is our in-depth understanding of the ASDEFCON framework used by the Department of Defence for tendering, contracting and procurement.
