Luminact was on hand at Changi Exhibition Centre last month to witness proceedings of the 2018 Singapore Airshow and participate in the largest aerospace and defence event in Asia. Numerous international and Australian companies were present to exhibit the latest technology and systems, and to join in the high level conference events over three days .
Some of the key themes at the conference were systems integration, and particularly the use of common interfaces to enable multi-vendor integration, as well as detection, tracking and neutralisation of UAVs or domestic drone threats. In this area, several emergent and mature systems were on show, including the IMI Red Sky 2 system, offering multiple highly sophisticated capabilities from man-portable detection and jamming, to a fully deployable system that can detect, follow, jam or intercept the threat.
Australian Industry was well represented with a large open Team Defence Australia stand showcasing many unique Australian Industries. Platform capabilities were also evident in the RAAFs P-8A, Poseidon and E-7A Wedgetail which were elements of the static display.
